Green aventurine is known, in Classical Chinese Medicine, for its ability to clear blockages:
- Qi – blockages of this type usually result in pain – kind of like a boulder forcing a stream to flow around it.
- Heat – Irritation of various types are part of this one
- Blood – Various types of toxins can accumulate in the blood
- Food – Undigested food and accumulated wastes in various organs
- Cold – The inability to generate internal heat
- Phlegm/Fluid – Primarily blockages/accumulations in the lymph system
Green aventurine is considered a nourishing or nutritive stone. It does this, in part, by removing blockages so that nourishment can get to the area it’s needed.
Green aventurine is a crystal chelator. It attracts the things that are causing blockages and escorts them to the exit – which means that drinking water and having a good higher fiber diet will be very helpful. It is also not recommended if taking medications. It can clear them more quickly.
Green aventurine is not a particularly dramatic stone; it can be difficult to perceive its immediate effects. It works in the background. But, by clearing blockages, it makes all other stones, and other modalities, work better. Think of it as multi-dimensional lubricating oil for ligaments and muscles, and also for our emotions and thought processes.
It can be a wonderful boon for pain reduction. Pain is a type of Qi blockage in Chinese medicine. By reducing the blockage in areas like our joints and nervous systems, energy doesn’t get stuck – we move more freely unhindered by constant nagging pain.
- By opening blockages in our emotional field, green aventurine helps open our heart to the flow of love, joy and laughter. It helps to release emotions that have gotten stuck, especially those that are habitually stuck.
- By opening blockages in our thinking processes, it can help with frustration and the sense of there never being enough time.
- By opening blockages in our spirit, it can help us face the day, managing our affairs without getting exhausted in the process and taking time to care for ourselves.
Green aventurine has a strong expression in the green and white color bands.
