Phenakite is one of the stones that Dr. Robert Gilbert, may he Rest in Peace, identified as having the centering vibration – a crystal that brings us more deeply into our Center. Centering stones also have an adaptogenic quality. Adaptogens strengthen our Living Energy/Etheric body, exerting a calming and strengthening influence, as well as transmuting detrimental energies into beneficial energies.
The strong White ray vibration that emanates from Phenakite also has a gentle, deep cleansing effect, clearing physical blockages as well as energetic blockages in our chakras and meridians/channels, and also throughout our subtle bodies.
It is also a stone that amplifies and harmonizes the beneficial aspects of all other stones. We have tested it with our Sugilite and Iron Rose quartz crystal elixirs and are very happy with the results.
Phenakite is a great stone when we’re going through major changes in life: including a Dark night of the Soul and also our final return to the subtle realms. It helps us connect with Divine Light that is always waiting for us. Phenakite combined with sugilite is excellent for this purpose.
Physically, Phenakite is a Beryl, in the same family as Aquamarine, Emerald and Morganite. Each of these stones contains the element Beryllium. They grow in pillar-like formations, somewhat visible in the picture above. In the Doctrine of Signatures, this hints at Phenakite’s strong centering qualities. In Classical Chinese Medicine, these stones are known as ‘Essential Stones’ for this centering quality. It helps conserve Living Energy, very beneficial as we age.
Phenakite is the only stone in this group that is composed of beryllium silicate, the other stones also have some aluminum in their makeup. It’s chemical signature is Be2SiO4. One of the most fascinating aspects of Beryl stones like Phenakite is their multi-dimensional presence. As described in the article – Quantum Tunneling of Water in Beryl – water exists within these stones in a state that is ‘unmatched by any known gas, liquid or solid states.’ The water molecules are ‘delocalized’, simultaneously present in all six (beryls are hexagonal stones) dimensions. ‘It’s one of those phenomena that only occur in quantum mechanics and has no parallel in our everyday experience.’
